The pre-2000 manifolds did have a hella time with cracking. However after they re did them and put the expansion joints in there it has solved the problem with the stock manifold.

Thanks Doc/Jack. My exhaust manifold hasn't cracked yet, that I know of, and I'm not getting any noise from there but figure if I'm gonna do the exhaust then I may as well do it. Installing headers shouldn't be that big of a job...

No problem Jeff. I just don't see the benefit vs the cost for those headers on the jeep motor over replacing it with a stock style manifold. But you all have gotten Borla's attention with this thread. They are running banner ads thru google here now. LOL

Perhaps you're right concerning cost vs. benefit on these, I just kinda figured with over 223K on the clock the time is probably overdue for a thorough replacement of things throughout the engine. I'm going to go through the whole thing and replace common items and maybe check the valve train while I'm in there. Figured a few minor upgrades like headers, throttle bodies, etc might be worth looking into. I'm not planning a complete engine swap or going to a V8 (although a turbo diesel would be AWESOME!) but want to do what I can to keep the engine alive and reliable.

Thanks for that report. What exactly did you have them do?

Had them move the muffler from the back to the drivers side just ahead of the evap canister, and new exhaust tip very similar to the Cooltech exhaust which is $299.
