I've noticed my 97 TJ's oil pressure fluctuates on the freeway (65mph)..... 20 to 40 on the gage and around 10-40 at idle.....this is my first TJ but my 4.0 XJ never fluctuated that much...... is this normal????..... oil level is dead on..... thanx in advance for any info.....

My XJ 4.0 was doing something like that, Put a mechanical oil pressure gauge on it to test if it was the engine or the gauge. Pressures were steady with it. Replaced the sender and all is well again.
