Old Time Route 66 Car Show - Summer - Williams, AZ

Hi guys,I know I haven't been around in a while, but I wanted to let everyone know that I'm working with the Williams Chamber of Commerce to organize weekly car shows on Saturday nights in Downtown Williams during the summer. There are a couple weekends that would conflict with other special events in town, so it will not be every weekend, but I'm looking at probably 8 to 10 weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day. I don't have any specific details yet, it's just in the planning stages, but would you guys be willing to participate in these? This would be a great excuse to come up the hill (for those of you in the Valley) and get into the cool weather for a day and enjoy a nice little car show.

Right now the basic idea is for there to be a $5 entry fee for entering the show, which will go to a variety of charitable organizations here in Williams (i.e. the Youth Recreation Center, Aquatic Center, and other groups serving the community). The Williams community is suffering badly from the economy, and the City has already shut down the Aquatic Center temporarily for budget reasons, and could shut down the Youth Center if things don't pick up. I want to get this event going to help the youth of Williams, and keep these important facilities open. I am working on talking to various downtown businesses to provide some sort of discount to Car Show Entrants, although this is all just being discussed at this point and not official. We will have a couple open parking lots set up, and possibly diagonal parking along downtown Williams on Route 66 (subject to City approval) set aside specifically for the car show. I am looking to get all different sorts of groups involved. 4x4's, classic cars, muscle cars, sport compact cars, etc. This will be a collaboration of all different sorts of automotive enthusiasts.

Please give feedback on your thoughts on this, and definitely let me know if any of you would be willing to volunteer to help operate the events if I can't be there due to my primary job at the Grand Canyon Railway. I am looking forward to making this event a long-term thing in Williams, and any help or support would be very much appreciated. Also, if anyone knows of any other car groups in Northern Arizona that have message boards, please share their site with me so I can get this out to as many different groups as possible.

Obviously for you guys I wouldn't expect the entire group to come up every weekend, but if this gets off the ground, maybe you guys could pick one or two weekends in the Summer to come up and make an appearance at the show?
