What type of steel (angle, square, tube, etc) do I need with sizes again? I'll go down on my day off on Wed? Sorry I had it written down but I think the kids thru the paper away with all the information. Next weekend sounds good to me.

Yeah, blame it on the kids
You needs some 3/16" 2" x 4" as wide as your rear end. Well, maybe not yours but your Jeep's... and some 3/16" x 4" wide flat to make the sides. length of 2' will do. If you want to but a hitch on you'll need one of them too. 4 Wheelers has them. Lastly, you need 3 feet of .120 3/4" tube. We'll use these to make spacers for the frame and rear cross member.

Ok so thank you to Tom for making the rear bumper/mounting plate for the way back shackles. It is mounted now and looks tough as can be. I'll post up pics when I get home today. It still needs to be thread locked, cleaned, and painted. All of which will get done this Wednesday along with some other work. I need to get the Ubolts and some bushings for the shackle hanger.

Here are the pics from the install. I also did some additional cutting to get it out of the way.

I like that bumper. How far back is the back shackle mount now compared to the original location?

Sorry I had no net for a bit because of a problem that is now fixed. I'll measure it out. I can tell you sitting in that location will fit XJ leafs no problem with about a 5-6" wb stretch. I have pics that need to be posted with the rear axle mocked up. That should give you a clearer idea on what it looks like.

So I slacked a bit to update on my build. Thanks to Tom S. and Brian the rear axle is now mocked up with the pinion angle in line. Went to put the H2 wheels on and ran into an issue with the center hole to shallow to fit. I pulled out the grinder and ran it around until it fit good. It took roughly 1.5hrs with stopping and helping kids which shocked me it was that simple. I picked up my front axle from Chris (lost offroad fabrication) today and man is it beefy. It still needs the draglink which will get done once it is on it's wheels. I did however forget to cut a bracket but that'll get done tomorrow. Really starting to come along finally. Will need to run the brake lines and have the shock hoops made for the front and the rear soon and not to mention drivelines. Here are a few pics. Let me know what you think.

Any pics of the rear showing shackle and hanger position? Any idea how much lift you ended up with on the rear?
Im planning to do this on mine and need some ideas where I need to place the hangers. Don
