Default Just another YJ budget build

So I have been tearing the YJ apart and doing some things over the past couple years..
AX-15 swap. fender chop. bucket seats, Nothing major.

Now I'm doing a 318 V8 swap. waggy 44 rear, SYE, SOA/SUA
reverse shackle, and rear stretch
Just thought I would keep the square headlights alive.

Per VJC.
When I first got it and installed the lift the guy sold me.

Getting the rear axle cleaned up and the new rear crossmember burnt in.

Most recent. Got one of the home made shackle hangers built and melted on
Set the leaf pack in and tacked the bracket to see where its gonna sit.
Looks like I gained 10" in the rear.

[/

Any advice is appriciated.

In the last pic. the shackle looks like it will invert at full stuff. What is the angle when the spring is flat?

I'm building a FS set of shackles, Not using the stock ones.. I still have to see how far its gonna drop with the newer axle, wheels and tires. From what I estimated The shackle angle is perfect.
My spring packs are not flat, they are 3" lift packs. I jacked it up on that side and jumped on it. Even at full compression I was @ 35*.
I'm hoping to have the axle in by this weekend so I can see fo sho what I'm dealing with.

With a hair cut

Sitting on the axle and the tub tacked into place

The front is not SOA yet, so it looks like a hot rod

Yes the shackle angle is pretty crappy. Gonna have to move the front bracket forward an inch or 3. :aagh:
I didnt realize the springs would sag more with an soa..
:aagh:

Thats it for now.
